Byekwaso Blasio, born in Masindi in 1965, is a forestry graduate who began to work in the service of nature decades years ago. In 1999, after five years as a Tourism Development Game Warden in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, he gave up a salaried job for a challenging but successful career of a freelance nature photographer. He is known for postcards and books about national parks - and for his desire to always expand his photo libraries. He would jump on a bus immediately when an exotic animal is caught anywhere in Uganda, photograph it and release it. Blasio is globe-trotter; he has been to 12 countries in Africa, in Europe and travelled extensively in his beloved destination, the USA; he has even worked as a volunteer ranger guide in Ise Royale National Park, Michigan.
Miha Logar was born in 1974 in Kranj, Slovenia. His life has been devoted to development studies, journalism and technology. In 1999 he came to East Africa for the first time. Feeling how exciting the region was he returned to Slovenia only to finish his military service and journalism Bachelor's degree. In 2000 he started a Master's in development studies at Uganda Martyrs University, in 2001 he began Edirisa and after his graduation in 2002 he moved to Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern Uganda. He now lives across the border in Musanze, Rwanda, because of his children’s educational needs.
