 If you choose to help Edirisa in providing and supporting education, you have three sponsorship options. Nursery Education A contribution of 5 euros per month can dramatically enrich the daily life of the children at Edirisa Nursery Schools at Bufuka and Kyabahinga. The schools were established in 2005 and 2009, giving children a safe playing and learning environment in their most critical years. As we strive to provide this service free of charge, we need all the help possible. Your donations will be spent on: • activities, teaching materials and toys • one school meal a day (essential at this age) • salaries and training of nursery staff Primary Schooling  This is the longest-running aspect of Edirisa Smiles. Since 2004, we have been supporting children at governmental schools, organising swimming classes, creative workshops and other extra-curricular programs. Your sponsorship of 5 euros per month will be spent on: • workshops, swimming classes, sports, school trips, competitions • scholastic materials and general supplies • salaries and training of Smiles program staff Technical/ Secondary Education Uganda suffers from a lack of skilled workers such as engineers, farming specialists, mechanics, plumbers, carpenters ... Sadly, young people are focused on academic subjects and academic education - a sure way to unemployment and waste of talent. Surprisingly few donors, organisations and funds are devoted to building up technical skills and Edirisa wants to fill this void. However, in the case of particularly academically talented children, we may opt for supporting them at general secondary schools as well. Your contribution will vary (about 200-300 euros per year) depending on the school chosen for the child. It will be spent on fees and other costs related to the student's education.
